Mosaic Monday - poppies and sunshine

Once upon a time I planted a wildflower mix and a few poppies grew. Since then, poppies tend to sprout up here and there, wherever the wind may have carried the seed. I have spent the last couple years transplanting them from all these spread out locations to one raised flower box. I have to say I'm really enjoying the fruits of my labor - as are the honeybees.

Notice the bee curled into the center of the orange poppy at the bottom and how the red one in the center has petals dusted with pollen so that it almost glows? Little surprises. :)

Be sure to visit Little Red House to see all the beautiful mosaics!

    Very, very nice!
My DH's mother grew poppies & I hear him say they are one of his most favorite flowers. We don't have any. I should remedy that.

  19. Your mosaic is just lovely. I really like poppies as they remind me of home. Our local TV station runs public notices this time of year reminding everyone to report opium poppies to city hall for eradication. Yup, they apparently grow wild here on Awaji Island! (I'm going to have to check iPhoto and see how to make a mosaic of my own. Yours is so professional looking!)
