Two buckets of moss

Two brackets hang from the entry into the living room - from which hang a pair of shabby chic buckets and for Christmas I had them filled with scraps cut off the Christmas tree and a spray of faux berries.

I emptied the Christmas contents long ago and the buckets have been sitting on the floor ever since. I decided yesterday that it was past time for them to be back in action.

Miss Mustard Seed gave me the idea to fill silver bowls with moss and I did one of those for my bedroom. Since I still have tons of moss from my tree it seemed like a great way to use what I already had and bring some green indoors that wasn't a "seasonal" type thing.
First I filled the buckets with newspaper from the recycle box, scrunching it to make it fill the bucket, yet remain lightweight.

I gathered my moss from all over the ground and tucked it into the tops.

They look right at home hanging up.

What an easy project! And free too because I shopped the house (and yard).
