My three 99 cent finds put to use

During last week's thrift and antique shop spree I picked up these three little 99 cent items at Goodwill. I'm such a big spender. :)

This piece looks like a cigarette case (with a place for a monogram?)...

But it actually seems too thin to hold two side's worth. Thoughts?
I loved the pattern and the clasp and how it pops open. I am planning on using it for cards or papers.

These little bowls were too cute to pass up and I actually had plans in mind for them when I found them. One of my rules for thrifting is that I have to buy things on my "list" of items I am continually looking for and not just grab up things willy nilly. A newish rule I imposed on myself to keep down the clutter.

The sundae bowl is the perfect thing for holding half-finished beading projects. The large "foot" on it makes it more secure and I don't have to worry so much about tipping it over. The photo below is actually of another one I have that I use for the same purpose. Since I usually have several projects going at once and it sometimes takes weeks to finish (because I usually change my mind several times) these bowls are perfect for me. And it looks cute too! :)

The other bowl is now home to a renegade grape hyacinth which decided to come up in my pathway. I don't allow plants there no matter how cute they are so I decided to move it instead. Grape hyacinths are a bulb flower so it was easy to move. I filled the bottom of the bowl with pea gravel, stuck in my plant with a bit of dirt and covered it with moss from my stash. It's not looking too good here, it needed some water and a leaf clean up.

It looks - if I may say so - adorable in my window sill and I love the pop of color.

The hyacinth looks gorgeous in there. And that case, whatever it is, is gorgeous. Great finds. :)

I love the first picture of the flower in front of the window...they way you took it, looks just like the cross on the window. I think you should frame this Molly! I need to adopt your "list" idea for the thrift stores. :)

I think your case is a business card case. The cards go behind the little straps. Great finds!
