On Monday I showed you the before and after of my bedside table. Here's how I did it - organize and hide it!
My aunt gave me some boxes and the largest of the set, fit just right into the space on the shelf of my bedside table. In it I placed all the cords and electronic type devices I need to keep around.
But before I put anything in there I got out the label maker and tried each cord into each device and discovered which one goes to what object and labeled it! Now there's no more guessing because, after all, the inside of the box still looks like this
Labels are just going to simplify life and who doesn't want that?
I thought about twist-tying the cords into neat little bundles but didn't for two reasons. One, I have some phobia of folding my cords up, crushing wires inside and causing a housefire. As far as I know, the fear is unfounded, but until I have like...empirical evidence telling me it's okay to fold them up, I'm not going to.
Secondly, I just use some of these cords wayyyyyy too often to warrant bundling them up. That would actually cause more frustration instead of alleviating it.
So there you have it! Organized clutter that you don't have to look at! Ahhh it's just my very favorite kind!
Whaaaaat? You missed the before and after photos? Go here.

I am such a clutterbug! My beading room is impossible. Someday I may show photos, but for now I will keep it to myself! I love labels and am in the process of labeling all my containers of beads, by color.
If only my trail of clutter was organized...
Yay for organization! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm glad you got a good laugh.
Oh, how my office needs this... cords are everywhere under my desk. :(
The fur-babies say, "thank you for thinkin' we're cute!"
Thanks for participating in my first giveaway!
That's such a good idea...the labeling!! We have so many cords and cables and I have no clue what goes with what!
I read a tip once in a magazine that you can use an empty toilet paper roll to keep your cords organized. That way their not squished too tightly together like they are when you wrap a tie around them.
Doesn't it feel great when you can declutter something!? I love the label idea...why haven't I thought of that one!?
Here's to hoping for warmer weather!!
I'm totally with you on "...organized clutter you don't have to look at"! And label makers rock! I go way overboard on labeling EVERYTHING! Thanks for visiting. Oh and your cat is awesome looking - such a neat color pattern!
Here's how I organized my cords. I put each in a small zip-lock bag and cut a small slit in the corner for the end of the cord to fit through. Now if I'm looking for a cord for a device I can check the ends of each zip-lock bag.
