Candle jewelry

Anyone giving candles as gifts this year? I found this at a local shop - forgive me if everyone already knows about this but I don't get out much! - it's called candle jewelry.

It has these pins in the back and you just...stab the candle with them (that sounds a bit scary, hmm?) and you've got instant candle bling.

Pretty! But I only bought one and it's a gift. So what do I do for my own candles or what do I do if I'd rather not have to buy something?

I grabbed some cute flat buttons, my really small jute string and a pair of scissors.

Simply string your buttons on and give yourself enough length to tie a simple knot in the back. The buttons are adjustable and you can spread them (however many you like!) along the candle either close together or spaced out.

Very nearly instant candle bling! And I already had all this stuff so we'll just say it didn't cost anything. ;)

You could also use elastic string, ribbon, thread - whatever fits your decor and your budget.

I decorated a candle with things I found in my yard earlier this year.

Happy thrifty decorating!

Oooo I love decorating candles for the seasons or for special occasions. And I didn't know they had candle jewelry either *scratching head* How'd I miss that?
Love the wee buttons and jute twine. Rustic chic, just the way I like it!

And great quote below, BTW.
