You may have noticed...

...That my right sidebar is quickly filling up with cute-as-a-button buttons for all kinds of handmade Christmas projects and one Christmas Carnival deal - you'd better check that one out because you could win a pair of earrings from my shop! Be sure to give them all a look - wonderful ideas that people are sharing!

I started making gifts last year when I was seriously strapped for funds and it has become rather a passion than just a necessity. I truly appreciate all the creative people in blogland who post projects and inspire to this way of doing and thinking because, though I would love to think I have an endless fount of creativity springing from myself, I frequently need more than what I've got.

I've made a rule for myself that I'm not allowed to do anything else tomorrow until I finish the laundry soap box project I keep talking about and never posting, so if another post doesn't show up here for a while it's because I've fainted from hunger and exhaustion, glue bottle still in hand and paper scraps strewn haphazardly about. Do you ever get stuck on a project like that? One you've got all mapped out mentally and you figure will be pretty easy but somehow always gets pushed to the side? Like when you were in school and you'd think I have homework in five classes but holy cow my sock drawer needs to be organized right this second!

I at least got some Christmas crafting out of my system by making some Christmas pretties for my shop. It was so dark, rainy and totally gloomy the day I was trying to photograph them that even with ALL the kitchen lights on (overhead, under cabinet, over the sink) I still had to use some candles to help bring some light to the photos. I guess that makes it nice for anyone wondering what these pieces would look like in a romantic candle-lit evening setting.

I love your snowflake necklace and earrings! Very pretty. Thanks for the tip on using candles to brighten photos. I'll have to try that. :)

I am infamous for starting a project and not finishing it. You aren't alone! I also am pretty sure I couldn't come up with a creative idea on my own to save my life, but I copy pretty well...thank goodness for blogland:) With my hubby in grad school and me not having a job Christmas is going to be tight this year so I appreciate all the DIY gifts I can find. THANKS!
