You make a poor window even if you are a pane

Ba-dum, dum.
(you get points if you laughed at my joke)

What to do with that wall space by the back door - that space which you can perfectly see from the kitchen, the living room, the way back hallway - this house is totally open so there's nowhere that you really can't see this wall from any of the main areas of the house.
(I'm sure you'll be happy to know that pot is now filled with pretty pebbles and bamboo and sits on the bathroom counter)

This one actually does make a poor window because it lacks any panes at all - they were all broken out who knows how many years ago when this piece was sitting out in the weather in a junk heap.

After it had been sitting outside for years it was brought inside, painted and hung on the wall by a strip of fabric. That itself was years ago and it was starting to look like trash again (not to mention that it didn't match anything).

A fresh coat of white paint (a can that sits around for just such an emergency), some light distressing around the edges - because who wants perfect and new? No one here does.
A strip of garden jute, and........

An extra "window" wall art that matches the existing trim (and hallway furniture) that was entirely made out of stuff lying around.

Now. Should I put something in the pane areas? Any ideas?

Cute. How about black and white photos or mirrors?

I like it the way it is...but you can live with it that way for awhile and change it later. I love the pretty soft color! ♥

It's lovely like it is... however... you could tack photos or fabric samples in panes or you could use large push pins and hang small unframed paintings or prints on canvases... or you could put cup hooks in the top of each and hang bunches of flowers or herbs to dry... or hang vintage jewelry from them... Why can't I think of these things for my own house???
