My garden is growing...just not what I want.

Usually around this time of year it has dried out enough for me to work outside, taming the garden and flower beds. This year it has combined warm temperatures with lots of rain and what we get is a jungle.

You can see in the background that my vegetable garden is currently filled with California poppies. Which is okay for now but I'd feel better if I had my veggies planted. I need my veggies!
We're supposed to get a week of sunshine soon so hopefully things will dry out enough there. In the meanwhile I weed between rain showers.

Dear little vetch, why can't you grow up my Peter Rabbit fence instead of choking out my spearmint?

And my darling lavender! You look fabulous and the bees love you - all six variety of bees that I counted. Like my bee behind shot? :)

Wish me luck that I can get the jungle tamed and that all the slugs I've seen don't rise up and overthrow the humans. I hate slime.

Your jungle, I mean garden, look beauteous! I have a jungle too, lots of rain made everything grow big and fall over. I need to get some of that lavender, it's lovely.
